Yea dawg.
There were several non-Texans who came to the Alamo's defense. The Alamo's defenders consisted of 41 European born men, 2 Jewish men, 2 African-Americans, and the remainder were Americans from states other than Texas. Only 13 men in the Battle of the Alamo were Texan born.
Well even though they lost it gave them more will to change into a independent state
We didn't lose. We defeated Mexico. The defeats at Goliad and at the Alamo enraged and encouraged the Texans to fight. Also it gave Sam Houston time to gather his troops.
in what way did the capture of san antoin help the texans cause
Losing at the very least 250-300 men or more killed, and many more wounded, the battle weakened Santa Anna's forces, taking numbers he could not replace.
Yes! The Alamo is still used today as a museum to help remember the Alamo!
Davy Crocket went to Texas to help the Texans in their fight for independence from Mexico. He led a company of 65 American volunteers, mostly from his home state of Tennessee. They arrived at the Alamo and joined its garrison shortly before it was besieged by the Mexican army. Since Crocket and several of his men were skilled marksmen they contributed significantly to the defensive efforts; allowing the to hold out for several days despite being heavily outnumbered. However; on March 6th, 1836 the Mexican army succeeded in overwhelming the defenders; and all of them, including Crocket were killed. Though the Texans lost the battle of the Alamo it gave their General Sam Huston enough time to organize and train his army, allowing him to defeat the Mexicans at the Battle of San Jacinto on April 22 1836.
The texans retired to the Alamo after waiting several months for the Mexicans to arrive. By that time, many texans who had volunteered had drifted away due to the wait for the Mexicans to arrive.
