After the end of the major outbreaks of the Plague in the 15th-16th centuries, world human population increased quickly because of new European farming techniques and inventions. Population grew at a steady pace until the mid to late 19th century at which time world population exploded and it has continued to "explode" ever since. Current world human population is approaching 7 billion, where as in the year 1804 the world population was about 1 billion people.

In the last 200 years, there has been a tremendous growth rate of the Earth's population. 200 years ago the population was about one billion. Today in 2014, the population is about 8 billion.
