Instead of running to tell someone right away, Magee talks to Grayson and reads him books until it was night and than Magee lies down and cries. The funeral was a week later. Magee was the only person there, other than some town employees who were the pallbearers, a man from the funeral home, and two gravediggers. The other men start complaining because it is cold and the minister is running late. The man from the funeral home convinces the men to wait two more minutes for the minister. After that time passes, before the men take any action, Magee runs off.
