Maria of Aragon, Queen Isabella's daughter, ( June 29, 1482- March 7, 1517) became the second wife to Manuel I, Portuguese King. She was queen consort of Portugal from the time of her marriage in 1500 until her death. Her eldest sister, Isabella of Asturias, was the first wife of Manuel I, but after she died, Maria became the next bride of the Portuguese king. Maria had six sons and two daughters that lived into adulthood.
Maria of Aragon was the daughter of Queen Isabella I of Castile and Queen Ferdinand II of Aragon. She married Manuel I of Portugal and became Queen of Portugal.
