The cleaner, made by Wyandotte Chemicals Corporation, contained pentachlorophenol or PCP which is incredibly toxic. Aside from acute symptoms that can lead to death (especially in newborns and infants), it can cause lukemia and other cancers. The product was pulled in the late 1960's.

Loxene shampoo was a completely unrelated product, made by Reckitt and Colman (as was).
