As of December 13, 2012 there have been 47 confirmed tornadoes in Florida in 2012.

The most recent of these was an EF1 that struck a trailer park near the town of Edgewater on December 10. It traveled on land for a little over half a mile. It badly damaged several dozen mobile homes, tearing the roofs from some of them, and toppled over 100 trees before moving onto water. The tornado may have crossed over to a nearby barrier island. Two people suffered minor injuries

Two significant tornadoes also touched down on June 24 in the storm bands of Tropical Storm Debby.

The first was an EF2 in the area of the Venus community. It destroyed several trailers and downed several telephone poles. One woman was picked up and hurled to her death and another person was injured.

A second EF2 tornado near Winter Haven damaged a number of homes and tore part of the roof from a store. One person was injured.
