There were several reasons; one of the main reasons though i think is that, in the first Crusade, Pope Urban II said that if you fought in this war and died, all of your sins would be forgiven and you'd go to Heaven. This was a HUGE deal back then cause you could go the other way (if you know what i mean) for the smallest things, and no one wants to go there. Another reason was money; they would pillage and raid the cities and towns they entered. Others just wanted action and adventure, but there are probably many answers to that.
Women did not have many rights. They were expected to stay home, serve their family, and not involve themselves in politics. Few were given opportunity for education. In emergencies, they would hunt for food and fight to defend their homes and castles. Some women entered religious orders as nuns and thus were able to participate in writing and scholarship. Notable women of this time are Christine de Pisan, a writer; Hildegard of Bingen, nun, scholar, and musician; and Eleanor of Aquitaine, who supported art, music, courtliness, and went on a crusade.
Octavian (Augustus) ended the civil war when he entered Egypt. Actium, which is off the coast of Greece, was a defeat for Antony and Cleopatra, but it was not the end of the war. Antony tried, unsuccessfully, to rally troops and put together an army afterwards. The war ended, for all practical purposes, when Octavian entered the city of Pelusium, which surrendered without a fight.Octavian (Augustus) ended the civil war when he entered Egypt. The Grimaldi are and ancient people, of course, who today are the Khoi San. Actually, they also include the Twa. These are Black folk from the cape of South Africa who migrated all the way up and established nations all along the way. they entered the Iberian Penninsula (Spain) by way of what we now call Morrocco, but they also entered Europe from other points. They were the first Europeans throughout the region from Spain to Finland, from Austria to Belgium and all that.

Jerusalem was the Holy City of Christendom, the reacquisition of which was the purpose of the Pope's authorizing the Crusades against the Moslems. Control over Jerusalem and battles to defend and overrun it were very important in the Early Crusades.
