A confirmation service is the final adult act of accepting Jesus as the son of God and affirming you believe in Him. During the days when Christians were persecuted , you would have to prove you were not a roman spy by passing various stages until you could see and take part in the full mysteries of the mass. Bu confirming your faith, you were essentially laying it on the line and opening yourself up to the percutions of Rome. That leap of faith, that confirmation, takes place now at a confirmation service. Those who ae Christian will have had other sacraments done for them, or been told wht to do. Confirmation is the adult step where a child makes their vow themselves . Therefore it's one of the first decisions you make as an adult. The taking of a confirmation name is a relic of the early times of Christianity , when receiving a new name was the ultimate confirmation of your commitment to Christ

Confirmation is the act of stating again what has been stated before. In a religious sense the Act of Confirmation is that, your parents having arranged for your Baptism when you could not decide for yourself, you yourself confirm that you wish to continue to live with and enjoy that religion. This usually happens during a special church service when you are about 11 or 12 years of age.
When writing a letter requesting service confirmation, it should include the date and time of the service. The letter should also contain when the service was completed and who completed the service.
