What happens during the baptism?

In the Baptist Church, at least the one I go to we hear the person's testimony who is going to be baptised. Their testimony will be a talk about what their life was like before Christ, how they became a Christian, and what their life is like after knowing Christ. They may also include a favourite Bible verse. Then the person who is going to baptise them and anyone one else who wants to, (close friends or family) will pray for them. Next both the person being baptised and the person who is baptising them (this doesn't have to be a pastor) enter any body of water. This could be the ocean, a pool in a backyard, a special baptismal at a church (a big bath or small pool) or any other body of water. The person is then gently dunked under the water, either by bending forward or being lowered gently backwards by the other person. After they come out of the water, it would only be a second if that under the water, then the person has officially been baptised. In the Baptist Church a person becomes baptised when they are prompted by God not as a baby.

What happens to your sin when you are baptized?

What baptism are you talking about? Infant baptism? Baptism of believers? Well the answer is much the same. Nothing happens to your sin when you are baptized. If you are a believer your sin is already dealt with before you get baptized. A believers baptism is a sign of the believers identifying with Christ in that Christ was buried and rose again the believer is buried (in water) and rises again to a new life. Infant baptism??? well there is nothing in the Bible that teaches infant baptism.
