∙ 7y agoThe reabsorption of drugs occur in the tubules of the kidney. This reabsorption process is mainly a passive one. As most of the water in the filtrate gets reabsorbed, the urine becomes more acidic as it becomes more concentrated. The non-ionized form of the drug in the urine will hence by preferentially reabsorbed by passive diffusion as suggested by the pH-partition hypothesis.
