The engine won't start.
Your engine won't run...
car will not start up
When a position sensor is going bad the engine could run rough, or cut off for no apparent reason. Or, the engine may not start at all.
I have a 1999 Catera. When this happens it is almost always the crankshaft position sensor. Check on www.cadillacforums.com for more info.
In essence, the the displacement of the piston is porportional to the sine of the phase of the crankshaft. this isn't quite true but it gives a rough idea of what is happening. if you meant what happens in one cycle of a piston/crankshaft then it is essentially this: as the piston moves down it forces the crankshaft through one half of a revolution and then on the way back up the piston forces the crankshaft through the remaining half of a revolution - back to its start position to start again
Check Battery connections are clean and tight. If they are OK, then the problem lies in the relay mounted in the starter (it is one unit)
I would check your Ignition Module. That's the first place to look.
the positive battery teminal was very corroded when i bought mine and was having similar problems i'd check there first
The pistons stop going up and down.
replace lower intake
Broken timing belt?
AN engine that will not run correctly if at all.
