Nothing happens. People all over the world have different accents. You may pick one up, but usually you have the accent from the region where you live. I have the ability to acquire an accent when I am talking to someone. They often think I am from their country.

When punctuating the printed word what is the purpose of French accents?

The acute accent only appears above the letter e and makes the word have different pronunciation when used. A grave accent serves to distinguish two words that are spelled the same and has no effect on pronunciation. Aside from those two, there are two other French accents used for punctuation. These are the dieresis and the circumflex.

Why is it called Socom Special Forces with British accents and not just Socom 4 with American accents?

They made different versions to appeal to different countries. Since the main team is a NATO squad, an international team, it's a reasonable change to make, having two of the team members be Americans for the US release, British for the UK release, Australians for the AUS release, etc.
