You get black sores all over your body, and then you die.

There's a lot more involved and alot more detail, but I don't want to go into it all. It's pretty sick.

But, nowadays, if you contracted the Bubonic Plague, you could take some antibiotics and viola! it's cured. =D

The plague came in three different forms; the bubonic plague, the pneumonic plague, and the septicemia plague. The classic sign of the bubonic plague was the appearance of buboes in the groin, neck, and armpits which oozed pus and bled. The bubonic plague had a mortality rate of thirty to seventy-five percent with symptoms including a fever between 101 and 105 percent Fahrenheit (38-41% c), headaches, painful aching joints, nausea and vomiting, and a general feeling of malaise or illness. Four out of five people died with in eight days of being infected. The bubonic plague was the most common of the three types.

The second type of the plague was the pneumonic plague with a mortality rate of ninety to ninety-five percent; it was the second most commonly seen form of the plague. This type had symptoms including a fever, cough, and blood-tinged sputum. Also as the disease progressed or got worse the sputum became free flowing and bright red. The pneumonic plague is the type that attacks the lungs.

The least common of the three types was the septicemia plague with a mortality rate close to one hundred percent. The symptoms of this type were high fevers and purple skin patches. Victims usually died the day that the symptoms appeared, and in some cities as many as 800 people died every day! The septicemia plague is the type that attacks the blood.

First you would have a fever, then pains and aches. Next you would develop buboes (large, egg sized swellings), feel giddy and dazed and talk wildly. You would find it difficult to sleep but be tired all the time. Finally you would suffer from internal bleeding and then die!
