A few days after the expiration date won't kill you, but it isn't guaranteed by the company after that time and might lose effectiveness any later than a week or so, maybe even go bad. So unless it's an emergency, I'd replace it.

It may depend on how long it has been expired. I don't think it will pose a health risk. At the same time, you should throw it out.
