The cuboid is proximal to the fifth metatarsal. It's the most lateral of the tarsals.

A common fracture of the fifth metacarpal bone of the hand is often referred to as the "Boxer's Fracture." The fifth metacarpal is the bone in the hand that attaches to the pinky finger.
The fifth metatarsal is the bone on the outside edge of the foot. The distal part of it is the part farthest from the ankle and closest to the little toe.
Peroneus Brevis Tendon (Laterally) Peroneus Tertius Tendon (Dorsally)
An angulated fracture is one in which the bones, once broken, no longer line up in the straight line they used to assume, and have broken into an angle. The fifth toe is the little toe.
It really depends on what metacarpal(s) were broken and how severe the break(s) are. A boxer's fracture is the fracture of the fourth or fifth metacarpal. The 4th is the ring finger and the 5th is the pinky. I recently broke my fifth metacarpal. I will spend 4 weeks in a cast, two more weeks in a brace and then another six weeks of self rehabilitation to everything to get back to normal.
I have a 5th metatarsal break now. Mine is 1 mm separated. The doctor told me anything MORE than 1 mm does not make a union well and would probably need a screw inserted. Good luck to all who have this problem!
