If you lose the receipt with the delivery confirmation, there is no way you can retrieve it. Even if you call 1800-ASK-USPS. Trust me I just tried after I noticed no one answered you question. Hopefully this will help anybody else asking the same question.
Note to self: HOLD ON TO THAT RECEIPT!
no...July 5, 2010 is a USPS holiday, since independence day is on Sunday
UPS offers a tracking number for ground shipments that allow you to determine the location of your package from the moment it leaves their store. This is convenient over other shipping companies like USPS because you can better determine where you package is at and if it is on time for its expected delivery date.
No. FedEx and the US Post Office are not related, however, FedEx offers a service called FedEx SmartPost, which is an agreement between FedEx and the USPS, where FedEx moves the parcels from point A to B and then the packages are handed back over to the USPS, who will then make the delivery on parcel.
Yes and No. UPS Mail Innovations is when UPS TRANSPORTS your package, while the USPS (United States Postal Service) makes final delivery instead of UPS.

Depending on whether the USPS product was purchased via retail or electronic, the delivery confirmation cost may vary. Retail can be purchased at the post office and is usually $0.75, but delivery conformation is free when item is shipped online with priority mail.
USPS charges 90 cents for delivery confirmation per package. As little as 3 years ago this price was 70 cents, so it has seen a remarkable price inflation.
"Delivery Confirmation" is an optional purchased feature for some classes of mail so that the sender is notified that the item has been delivered. It is not the same as "Signature Confirmation" or registered mail. It is a feature that allows the sender to know when an item was delivered. Most easily determined by web access tracking the item by unique number.
That first depends on whether you requested tracking or "delivery confirmation" when your package was shipped. If you have, it will be located about halfway down the receipt and will have 4 sets of 4 numbers (16 digits total). You can track the package via USPS.
By getting a tracking number. USPS calls it delivery conformation.
A USPS tracking number is used to find out the status of a delivery. Using the USPS tracking number one can confirm whether a parcel has been delivered or find out where the parcel is currently located.
will the USPS be stopping delivery on Mondays
Depends on the distance but this service is listed as 2-9 days on USPS's site. The service is slower than Priority Mail and First Class, for perspective. If you're using electronic postage from a service like Endicia and their Dazzle software, you'd have access to Parcel Select which is Parcel Post but a bit cheaper, same delivery time and includes delivery confirmation. The related links explains expected delivery days for each USPS service level:
A USPS tracking number is a number affixed to a package, along with a corresponding bar code, that gets scanned at each point over the course of the delivery process. With each scan, the update is recorded, and can be viewed online.
Basicallly 'Parcel Post' non trackable USPS 'Delivery Confirmation' only. Which can take 2 - 10 days even if around the corner from you. Some track info will be available but it will just drive you crazy to watch it because it will not update untill the package is at your door.
The USPS.
