You should also check with the local human societies, animal shelters and dog pounds to see if the animals have been picked up by animal control. Veterinarians often get stray animals dropped by their clinics as well, particularly if the animal was injured.
Otherwise, unless you find them, you mourn their loss and move on.

∙ 16y agoYou can get arrested for animal cruelty, and spend some time in jail and have to pay a fine. Why not just give the dog up for adoption at a pound or no-kill shelter?
