I'm pretty sure that if you run from Groudon then you don't get to catch it, it's the same as KOing it.

∙ 12y agoYou have to first battle the Elite 4 and Champion then go back to where the legendary Pokemon was. You then can battle it again.
(It worked when I killed Volcarona by accident!)

You can only catch one in one game. In Pokemon SoulSilver, you get Groudon, and in HeartGold you get Kyogre. In Sapphire you get Kyogre, and in Ruby you get Groudon.
