It will give the effect of being under the influence of Amphetamine, also known as speed. I recommend you do not attempt an ADHD medication if not diagnosed with it by a Licensed professional.

Part two: Not only that, but you may become anemic and dramatically underweight, can approach death as a small child, and become depressed (personal experience from improper diagnosis of asperger's).

I have adult ADHD and I once had a roommate that did a ridiculous thing. She did a self-diagnosis and determined that she had ADHD. She stole around twenty of my Ritalin from the cabinet that I place my medication in. She left to go camping and decided that she would take the amount that had been prescribed by my doctor for me. Well, to make a long story short, she ended up in the emergency room. She started to display symptoms of a heart attack. I strongly advise individuals that think that they might have ADHD to consult with a specialist that will make a well researched diagnosis. I believe some people out there "wish" they had ADHD. I will be fifty one in a couple of weeks and have had ADHD every since I can remember. Having ADHD presents many challenges in a person's life. Individuals have to learn compensatory skills to overcome many of the obstacles that they face. I have encountered many "normal" people who greatly misunderstand me. I have even been called "weird" by neighbors, friends, and colleagues. Despite, all of this, I went to college. I have a Bachelors in Science (Magna cum Laude) and a Masters of Education (Summa cum Laude) degree in the field of special education. I taught severely disturbed children for twenty-eight years. I have retired from teaching and am currently enrolled in a Solar Photovoltaic program. Whenever I become discouraged I think about a quote that Montel Williams made at the beginning of his career: "Believe to Achieve."

So in short, if you're not diagnosed with ADHD, there's no reason to take such medication.

It varies on the person, but it will most likely make you much more focused on things, curve your appetite, and cause insomnia

Second answer: Not only that, but you may become anemic and dramatically underweight, approach death as a small child, and become depressed. (personal experience from improper diagnosis of asperger's)

Additional Information

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyper Active Disorder) is a real disorder that has become a scape goat for many people to explain their child's behavior in class (or at home, etc.) and therefore has gotten many children medicated for just being kids. You should know that as well as the aforementioned physical side effects ADHD medications mess with the chemicals in your brain, and that is not pleasant. You should only give medication to someone that has been tested by a qualified professional and may just need to accept that your child is normal.

Adderall is a central nervous system stimulant which contains amphetamine and is used to treat ADHD and narcolespy; taking amphetamine causes individuals with ADHD to slow down and be able to focus more. The reason amphetamine causes this effect is not entirely understood, but is believed to speed up the inhibitory responses in people with ADHD.

For a person without ADHD, Adderall will more likely cause excitation, euphoria, and hyperactivity. Taking Adderall without a prescription is against the law; it is a Schedule II substance and illegal around the world for recreational use. In some cases, sudden death has occurred as a result of taking Adderall in users who have undiagnosed heart defects.

Well considering you don't have ADD then it would be impossible to tell if it "Worked" and you wouldn't need the medication for anything in the first place. If you take adderall or ADD medication and don't have ADD or ADHD, the medication is actually a form of speed. And will make you very hyper

Yes; most ADHD drugs are based upon stimulants. Stimulants have long been used by people driving for long periods of time and to stay awake for work. In most countries, it is illegal to take a stimulant without a prescription since they are controlled substances. The difference between a person with ADHD taking a stimulant is that it will calm them down, whereas with a non-ADHD person they will become more active then usual.

Not really, using ADHD medication can be potentially dangerous to people that dont need it, although the above answer does have some points, you take a huge risk by using it without actually having been diagnosed with ADHD, Im a teenager and I have ADHD and let me tell you, they do a huge amount of testing to make sure you actually need to medication because if your misdiognosed it can cause alot of problems, You could also say it has a similiar affect on people that speed has, and by having a similiar affect it is likely that it may have similiar side affects, so all in all, i wouldnt play around with the medication because its specifically designed for people with ADHD

Mixing ADHD medications can be extremely dangerous, unless your doctor has prescribed such a combination. Most ADHD medications are stimulants and combined together can cause adverse cardiac effects such as heart attack, stroke, and other numerous problems. In some cases, stimulants can cause sudden death in those who have undiagnosed heart problems.

Since stimulants are controlled drugs, you could face legal penalties in addition to physical risks.

Do you realize, it is exhausting to pay attention? Do you ended up continuously interrupting by others? If these are problems, then you might have an attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is a mental disorder that is commonly diagnosed in children and it can continue to later life.

Do people with ADHD have to take medication?

You don't have to take medication, but, depending on the severity, I would highly recommend it. Medication helps so much, with everything from remembering to brush one's hair in the morning to getting straight As.
