The baptism of an infant.
Note: Fundamentalists often criticize the Catholic Church's practice of baptizing infants. According to them, baptism is for adults and older children, because it is to be administered only after one has undergone a "born again" experience-that is, after one has "accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior." At the instant of acceptance, when he is "born again," the adult becomes a Christian, and his salvation is assured forever. Baptism follows, though it has no actual salvific value. In fact, one who dies before being baptized, but after "being saved," goes to heaven anyway.

∙ 8y agoBaby are not routinley baptised they are "christen". In every biblical example of conversion and baptism, the convert was able to believe, repent, and confess that Jesus is the son of God prior to baptism. A baby can do none of these, and thus is not subject to baptism. Mark 16:16 says "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." A baby is not capable of believing. A baby is also not capable of sin, and thus has no need to have sins washed away in baptism. Once a person is old enough to know right from wrong, and to choose for themselves, then they must be baptized in order to be saved. (1 Peter 3:21)

What baptism are you talking about? Infant baptism? Baptism of believers? Well the answer is much the same. Nothing happens to your sin when you are baptized. If you are a believer your sin is already dealt with before you get baptized. A believers baptism is a sign of the believers identifying with Christ in that Christ was buried and rose again the believer is buried (in water) and rises again to a new life. Infant baptism??? well there is nothing in the Bible that teaches infant baptism.
