after being kicked out of mr buchanans house hetty has no other choice but to go back to the hospital... or does she? no she goes to the seaside where her true mother is and finds that her mother is terribly ill and has to get a doctor for her. when the doctor examines her he then administrates her to the hospital hetty then has to go and stay with the friends she made who are having a holiday at the seaside and goes to see her mother everyday untill her mother dies and hetty doesnt have anywhere to go.so after her friends have gone to their home town hetty has to get a job somehow so she decides to go to the freak cirus and maks her own special mermaid tail out of her beloved dress. after a while she decides she needs to go back to mr buchanans to see the woman that can receive messages from dead loved ones but hetty demands a refund when she finds out that the woman who is supposedly her mother isnt actually her mother at all. hetty goes back to mr buchanans house and has to run into the garden to puke. she wispers to her mum telling her that she really is an orphan but her mum insists that she isnt and hetty decides that she will try to find her true father.
