in the first book of the clique Claire comes to massies house from Florida to live in their guest house. Massie does not like Claire because she wears keds and wears ugly clothes that are not desighner. Massie is also mad at her parents for not letting her go to the party she wanted to go to instead she had to go meet Claire. Massie and her friends are very mean to Claire and don't let her hang out with them.

In the clique prequel their all in fourth grade and they go to a party on new years that's where the clique started because they all me tat the party
