Bree Tanner is newborn vampire on the prowling the streets of seattle with her friend fellow newborn vampire Diego. Both Bree and Diego were created by a vampire named Victoria who seeks revenge against a clan of vampires called the Cullens and is creating a vampire army for that reason.
Together Bree and Diego formulate an idea that Victoria's associate Riley is using them as pawns to keep Victoria safe.
They are told that the Cullen clan want to destroy them and the other newborns so they train to fight.
Diego dies during the battle and the Cullens win. The Volturi- a kind of vampire royalty- come in and interrogate Bree. The Cullens offer her protection but the Volturi don't believe in second chances and they kill her.

Diego doesn't die during the battle but is killed by Victoria and Riley before the battle. Bree realises this when she is in the battle. Riley also indirectly tells the newborns by saying i will hold you while she tears off your legs and slowly burns off .. your body parts..
