∙ 13y agoType 1 diabetes is when your pancreas, the organ that breaks down your sugars and carbohydrates when it stops working totally. I have it, and it can be managed by testing your blood glucose every time you eat, or feel different, like it could be low or high. Usually the range is 8o-15o. But a little over that is fine also. Not to high because you can go into a diabetic coma. Which is not good. And also every time you eat, or need to correct your blood sugar you have to take insulin. Either by injection through syringes, or you can get a pump. It pumps insulin into you whenever you need. To take insulin for the right amount you have to count your carbohydrates And get the amount according to your doctor.

∙ 13y agoType 1 diabetes is a condition in which a patient's pancreas is no longer functioning, and does not create insulin. The action that must be done is to inject the right amount of insulin into the body before each meal, or when the blood sugar is high (AFTER diagnosis, of course). Type 1 diabetes is NOT contagious.
