A car that has more cylinders, unltimatley has more pistons inside of the cylinders so the create more energy in a shorter period of time, but they also would have a lower mpg because they use more gas as well.

In a 98 buick park avenue what is a cylinder misfire why does it make the car shake a little is it serious?

A cylinder misfire happens when one or more of your 6 cylinders of your V6 eninge does not fire properly due to lack of fuel, spark or compression. The more cylinders that are not fireing the more violent the shake will be. If enough cylinders are not firing the car will not run. When you have a misfire with this vehicle your check engine light will flash. The engine light, oil light etc... are known as idiot lights. You ask what this means? IT MEANS YOUR VEHICLE NEEDS SERVICING UNLESS YOU WANT A BLOWN ENGINE!!!

What do cylinders mean for the amount of gas?

If you mean in a car, more cylinders=more pistons so uses more fuel. The larger the car the larger the engine must be to proper it so if fuel efficiency is what you want, you need the smallest car you can get away with that passes your drive test. many of these are so efficient now, they are underpowered-a common complaint.
