If the air filter is not changed in time it gets partially clogged, resulting in poor engine performance; particularly in EFI eingines. Disturbed and irratic idling is resulted along with higher fuel consumption.
Dirty air will enter the engine causing wear to all moving parts. The life of your engine will be shortened considerably.
Nothing good will come of it. Over time the filter will become so clogged that it impedes the flow of air into the engine. This will cause a RICH MIXTURE situation that can not be compensated for by the engine's computer. The Check Engine Light will come on, and the engine will not run properly (rough, stumble, etc). Along the way gas mileage will decrease noticeably.
my 2001 maxima has a permanent filter in the gas tank. you dont have to change it.
950 ml when you change the oil filter, but just 900 ml if you dont change the oil filter
It gets pretty hot. Some of the damage to your bearings, journal and cylinder wall surfaces in the engine. If you don't change your oil & filter in the recommended time, it becomes clogged and causes extensive damage to the engine. The price of a new engine? $4,000. The price of an oil & filter? Under $20.00
is this a gas or diesel if it is a diesel , on top of engine is a pot with a black top unscrew this blck top remove filter. replace with a new filter and a new "O" ring gasket for top screw top back on start engine it it is a gas engine i cant help you cause i dont know where it is
You oil will get dirtier and dirtier, the filter will clog and the engine will start the wear. Eventually the engine will develop sludge and in the end the engine will not last very long. I would suspect a brand new engine that you kept driving and never changed the oil might last 50,000 miles at the outside before having major internal problems.
I usually change my air filter once a year, that is a good rule of thumb. If you dont change your air filter it can hurt your gas mileage. Its cheap to.
2 liters if you dont change oil filter ....if you change filter also it is 2.3 liters
you dont... ther is no oil filter... Wrong.
Dont need to switch fuel off to change filter, the cut off or inertia switch is for emergencies only. With ignition off there will be no fuel pump running so the filter can be easily changed. There will be a residual pressure in system when engine off, dont worry about this as its normal to have a bit of petrol spraying out, just watch your eyes.
you should start with a basic tune-up. change your engine oil and oil filter, spark plugs and wires, air filter, clean your fuel injectors/carbueretor, transmission fluid/ gear oil change, antifreeze change and flush radiatior. even small things like this that dont cost alot can greatly enhance engine performance and changing oil and filter often is the MOST important thing you can do to ensure a long engine life. best of luck, D
