It becomes chemical energy.

Light energy (photon) can be emitted and also absorbed by atoms, and if it is absorbed, then this energy can be used. Based on this principle, plants and photosynthetic bacteria trap photons and use the energy for their photosynthesis. More precisely, as the photon dislodges an electron, (the electron get ejected, and forced into a higher energy level), the energy of this is used in the formation of ATP, in the process of Photophosphorylation.

Well In the proccess of photo synthesis the plant takes in sunlight and runs it through the chloroplasts wich act like a factory. The chloroplasts seperate the energy from waste. The energy becomes glucose(sugar) and feeds the plant. I hope that helps you with your science homework. ;)

The main contribution of light energy in the photosynthesis process is, as absorbed by photosynthetic pigments, directly reduce CO2 which, in turn, combined with water to form carbohydrate. In this view, CO2 is the source of the O2 generated by photosynthesis.

In a few details of phostosyntheis process in its light reactions, we have to consider the following:

The principal photoreceptor in photosynthesis is chlorophyll. Now, as photosynthesis is a light-driven process, it is worthwhile reviewing how light and matter interact according to Plank's law, where electromagnetic radiation is propagated as dicrete quanta (photons) whose energy (E) is equal to Planck's constant (h = 6.626 x 10-34 J per sec) multiplied by the frequency of the radiation (v).

Briefly, the primary reactions of photosynthesis take place at photosynthetic reaction centers. Yet, photosynthetic organelles contain far more chlorophyll molecules than reaction centers. Most chlorophylls function to gather light; that is, they act as light-harvesting antennas. These antenna chlorophylls pass the energy of an absorbed photon, by exciton transfer (also known as resonance energy transfer, in which an excited molecule directly transfers its excitation energy to nearby unexcited molecules with similar electronic properties), from molecule to molecule until the excitation reaches a photosynthetic reaction center. There, the excitation is trapped because reaction center chlorophylls, although chemically identical to antenna chlorophylls, have slightly lower excited state energies because of their different environments. Even in bright sunlight, a reaction center intercepts only about 1 photon per second, a metabolically insignificant rate, and hence, these light-harvesting complexes (LHCs) serve an essential function. Most LHCs contain organized arrays of other light-absorbing substances besides chlorophyll, such as carotenoids.

How temperature affects photosynthesis not only about its rate?

Photosynthesis happens rapidly when there is sunlight. Sunlight is a main factor necessary for Photosynthesis. So if the temperature is not hot enough, photosynthesis might not happen as rapidly as it happens when the sunlight is directly there.
