Actually the days are getting shorter.
(Note that summer follows the summer solstice.)
Summer. North America is located in the northern hemisphere while Australia is located in the southern hemisphere, so the seasons are exactly opposite. A simple explanation would be using the Sun's position. When it is winter in North America, the Sun is shining at a lower angle, experiencing less sunlight (daytime). As such, the Sun would naturally be shining at a higher angle in Australia, experiencing summer, with longer daytime (more sunlight).
It would be mid winter in the US as well.
Due to the sun being further away in winter and closer in the summer
Summer in the north. Winter in the south.
the moon affects the season summer cause the south and north poles are constly moving
Summer happens in South America when the Earth's 23.5 degree tilt gives the southern hemisphere more direct sunlight (and therefore warmth) than the northern hemisphere. So if South America is experiencing summer, North America is experiencing winter.
It is experiencing Summer Because it is closer to the sun
Due to the tilt of the planet, when the northern hemisphere is experiencing one season (like winter) then the Southern Hemisphere is experiencing the opposite season. Winter in North America would mean that parts of South America, Africa and all of Australia would be in Summer, with the effects more pronounced the further you travel from the equator.
