Energy put into a liquid will raise the temperature of the liquid until the liquid begins to transition to the gaseous phase of matter. At this point, the added energy is used to propel the molecules to sufficient internal energy to escape the attractive force and gravity that combine to keep the liquid a liquid.

How does he amount of energy change during boiling?

During boiling the temperatre of the boiling liquid does not go up. The energy input into the boiling liquid is taken away as the latent heat of evaporation by the escaping gaseous phase.

What happens when liquid water molecule gain energy and escape?

evaporation, or boiling if the temp. is high enough

What happens to the boiling point of a liquid solvent when a solid or liquid is dissolved in that liquid?

The boiling point is usually increased.

What happens to a liquid when it is evaporating as fast as it can?

it is boiling

What happened to the water that was lost mass during the boiling prosses?

The molecules have enough energy during boiling to leave the attractive forces of the liquid molecules and move into the gas phase molecules, becoming dispersed within the atmosphere with which the liquid is touching.

What do you notice about its temperature during boiling?

When a liquid is boiling the temperature stays constant. This is because the heat energy you are adding is being taken away with the vapour being produced.

What happens at a liquid's boiling point?

Boiling. A liquid boils at a temperature at which its vapor pressure is equal to the pressure of the gas above it.

What is the difference between evaporation and boiling-?

The difference in evaporation and boiling is simple. Just imagine a beaker and being placed on the hot plate. The liquid it beginning to evaporate and the their is a gradient in the water because not all of the water is reaching 100 degrees Celsius at once. Some of it is beginning to evaporate (change in the state from a liquid to a gas) the other is beginning to boil! Remember boiling is a characteristic property and once it is reached the temperature doesn't continue to increase. Hope this helped!Vaporization if the phase change from a liquid to a gas. Evaporation and boiling are both mechanisms for vaporization to occur. Evaporation occurs at the surface of the liquid. It is the primary method by which water moves from bodies of water into the atmosphere. It is a much slower process than boiling. Boiling occurs when a liquid is heated to the boiling point. During boiling, water evaporates throughout the entire liquid very fast, rather than just at the surface.Evaporation happens only at the surface of a liquid and occurs at any temperature (so long as the substance is a liquid at that temperature). However, as most people are aware, liquids evaporates faster at a higher temperature. Boiling, on the other hand, happens throughout the bulk of a liquid, usually starting from some site on the inside of the container and rising in a bubble to the surface. It only happens when the temperature is above the boiling point of that substance.

What is melting or boiling point?

The melting point is the temperature at which a solid changes phases into a liquid. This is a result of the highly structured atoms of the solid, which have very little kinetic energy beginning to gain energy and dissociate. The boiling point is the temperature at which a liquid changes into a gas. This happens when the atoms/molecules of a liquid gain enough kinetic energy to escape the liquid and move into the gaseous state.

How does solid change into liquid and gas?

Solids can be change into liquid by melting for example the ice. It will melt by just minutes in exposure of sunlight.. Liquid can be turned to gas by evaporating. Example a water can evaporate when heated..... :)

When water goes from a liquid to a gas?

water goes from liquid to gas in boiling or evaporation. boiling happens when the water reaches boiling point. evaporation happens naturally when water is left outside in the open it evaporates into the clouds.

What happens to particles of water when they are boiling from a liquid to a gas?

vaporization
