Protein spindles form on the centrioles which move to opposite poles in the Cell.

These spindles attach themselves to one side on the chromosome with extreme precision and the spindles on the opposite centriole, attaches itself to the other half.

The chromosomes are brought to the centre of the Cell.

Hence, the chromosomes are split into two.

The cell splits into two, it's pretty much cell division. There are 5 stages in mitosis (some people list more or less, but this is a summarization): interphase, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. So, it's splitting into two. Meiosis is almost the same, but the cell divides twice. Hope this is understandable. :)

Mitosis is where the cell divides. It just becomes two, like a twin.

During mitosis the cell makes copies of itself. One cell makes 2 clones of itself. The cell itself is used up in this copying mechanism.

What happens during m phase (mitosis) of the cell cycle?

Nuclear division by mitosis or meiosis

In what stage do centrioles replicate?

Centrosomes replicate during the S phase of the CELL CYCLE not mitosis. Mitosis is one stage of the cell cycle. Replication does not happen during mitosis(M phase). It happens during the S phase. In fact, the opposite happens chromosomes are consdensed and packaged in preparation for splitting.

During which main phase of the cell cycle do mitosis abd cytokinesis occur?

Mitosis and cytokinesis occur during the mitotic phase of the cell cycle.

How is the cell prepared for mitosis during the G2 phase?

The G2 phase continues growth of the cell and prepares the cell for mitosis by producing all of the enzymes that the cell will need in order to divide.

Which period are chromosomes duplicated in?

During the cell cycle, chromosomes are duplicated during the interphase.

What phase of the cell cycle does mitosis start?

Mitosis is a phase of the cell cycle. It occurs after the G2 phase.

The phase of mitosis which is actually the non-dividing phase of the cell Cell spends 90 percent of its time in this phase?

During the interphase stage of mitosis, the cell does not divide and spends a big portion of the time at this stage. During that time, the cell synthesizes its DNA and doubles the cytoplasm.

Where is the phase where cell division occurs?

Chromosome separation and the cyto-kinetic movement of Cytoplasmic components including the Cell's Membrane occurs during The M Phase.
