Our sewage system differs from country to country. In general, in most countries, it is sent through a network of underground collecting system and finally exits to the sea.
Sewage system, contains materials which are unfit for human use but .. it is suitable for other organisms to use it, like bacteria, which lives in it and breaking down the food. There are fishes which lives on the substances we dont use/unfit for human use, and an entire new ecosystem even exists with substances which we dont use, or waste out.
