It will release smoke which is hazardous to the environment and your health. Neighbours may also not like you burning your rubbish and may phone the council. Also, if you have any aluminium cans among the trash that you burn, it will release a poisonous gas into the air which (I think) can cause lung disease.

Many toxic chemicals are released into the air and it causes acid rain. It is also harmful to the person burning the trash and anyone in a close proximity.
