This was the case for us during the early 1990's. Our rental home went into foreclosure. We stopped paying rent, stayed in the house for another 2 1/2 months, and then moved.

You lose that home, whoever had their name on the foreclosed home has a blight on their credit, and will be liable for any money not covered by the eventual resale of the home by the lender. Nothing happens to your other home.

It is the tenants responsibility to pay for the repair as they are occupying the property and it istheirmain home. The landlord has nothing to do with it.
First, call the local board of health and ask them to document the situation. If the landlord does not exterminate soon, the tenant could hire an exterminator, and deduct that amount from the rent, sending the receipt to the landlord.
