I don't think it's ever happened but if it did you would end up with a barking cat with floppy ears and wagging tail or a meowing dog with tiny pointy ears and long tail.
There would be no offspring. They are not genetically compatible.

The female goes in heat, and the male takes the female's scruff in his teeth, and will bite down. He has a tiny barbed penis. When the female yowls (cat) or howls (dog) the male has mated her. She will officially begin the pregnancy.
There will be no offspring. They are genetically incompatible.
