I have two dogs and they have both eaten flies. The dog either smashes it and then eats its or catches it in mid air. If they smash it, it stays flat all the way down. If they catch it in mid air, they swallow it alive and it dies in there stomach because of the stomach acids and digestion. That's pretty much it. :D
