If a charged rod is brought close to a gas filled balloon, one will notice a change in shape in the balloon. In short, the charge of the rod works on the molecules of the gas within the balloon and cause the balloon to elongate.Ê
This is not so simple, but if a one word answer is required, the balloon is slightly larger, so "yes.".
The balloon would feel forces tending to elongate it, i.e. give it more of an ellipsoidal shape. The shape change would be small and likely unobservable without specialized equipment. The ellipsoidal shape has a major and minor axis and so not a single "radius" to be characterized.
The shape changes because there is an induced polarization of the neutral balloon caused by the nearby charge. This charge separation due to polarization pulls the nearer surface towards the rod and pushes the further surface away. The surface of the balloon therefore feels different outward forces on different regions, but the predominant result is additional outward force and hence an enlarged balloon.
As stated above, the enlargement is not uniform and may actually result in the short axis of the ellipsoid being smaller than the original radius and the long axis larger, but the change in volume should be larger. But, this must be a very very small effect, unobservable unless special conditions are created to observe it.
The balloon will be attracted to the rod
the ballon will spin in circles.
The balloon will be actracked to the rod
the ballon willl be repelled
It will spin.
The balloon will be attracted to the rod.
Yes
Small Balloon because it is smaller the heat is compacted and closer so the smaller balloon has more heat.
Increase one charge by four times. APEX.
As an electron is brought closer to a negatively charged plate, its potential energy increases. Since like charges repel, the electron has to be "brought" near the negatively charged plate ... it'll never go there on its own. You have to push it there, meaning you have to do work on it, and that work adds to the potential energy of the electron. As soon as you let it go, it'll whizz AWAY from the negatively charged plate, and that energy you put into it will turn into the kinetic energy of a hasty retreat.
As it gets colder the air molecules move closer together and the balloon deflates.
sooo true ;-;

when a positively charged ion & a negetively charged ion are brought closer to each other a bond is formed:"AN ELECTRO STATIC FORCE OF ATTRACTIONTHAT BINDS TO OPPOSITLY CHARGEDIONS OR MOLECULES IN AN CRYSTAL IS CALLEDA BOND"there are many kinds of bonds some of them are described below.......ionic or electrovalent bondcovalent bonddative-covalent bondpolar covalent bondnon-palar covalent bondmattalic bondfor example:Na+ ion is brought closer to Cl- ion an ionic bond is produced.

Balloons can be considered a container. containers contain something. A balloon contains CO2, assuming you blew into it. When you put something in a freezer is makes it cooler. making the molecules of CO2 to get closer together making the walls of the balloon to "cave in" making it shrink.

increase in energy
when an object is brought closer to the lens of a camera it gets smaller so that we could capture it properly. such lenses in a camera are conclave.
When it is close to the nucleus because the postively charged protons attract the negatively charged electrons
yes i think so that english has brought the world closer because in america ( U.S.A.) the people always speaks in english.so in india many people are trying to speak in english to bring their world closer as in america (U.S.A.).
