There are several ways a sea mammal can get "hurt" in the ocean, and there are different consequences depending on what exactly happened. I won't list the causes of harm to a sea mammal, but I will list some things that could "happen" when a sea mammal gets hurt. Why someone needs to know this I dont know but oh well here they are:
