3 STEPS: TAKE IT DOWN, READ INSTRUCTIONS, TRY AGAIN

Once you disassemble the pool all the way down. The bottem track is important to level. Make sure that the ground under the track is undisturbed. The harder the better. Extra tip is once you get the rail and foot pieces level, dig down just under each foot(leg/wall supports)and install a concrete pad ,usually 1' x 1'. Dig out the exact size and thickness of the pad you use so that the rest of the metal track stays touching the ground. Check level over and over again. Remembering that the wall must not in any way be damaged / bent. Its strength is because of the ridges. The rest should fall into place.

Since yo have to level the ground. You have to take it down and level the ground underneath. the best way is to get a straight board that is long enough to reach across the pool and use it and along carpenters level and pic out the lowest point and level to that point. If you fill in the soil will settle and it will not be level.

Level the ground.

If extreme enough, you end up with a half above and half in the ground.

The other possibility is to have the pool of varying depths.

Why does the ground have to be level for above ground pools?

So that the water doesn't drain out of the pool and so the pool doesn't fall over. I agree with the answer above but I have a more detailed answer. In a round above ground pool the water puts even pressure on the pool walls, and if the ground is not level one side will get more pressure. The imbalance will cause the pool to collapse under the strain.

How is an above ground pool pump different from an in ground pool pump?

In simplest terms, an above ground pool pump is a flooded suction pump, which means the water level must be higher than the pump for it to operate, and an inground pump has the ability to draw water up from a level lower than the pump. The engineering and structure of these two different types of pumps is what makes them work the way they do. This means that, in a typical installation, you could use an inground-specific pump on an above ground pool, but not an above ground pump on an inground pool with the water level below the pump.

Unfortunately, no. If the sand isn't level when you put the pool on top of it, the bottom of the pool will stay uneven after it's filled. Sorry.
