Uncontrolled cell division occurs whenever a cell is incapable of responding to growth regulators that are released within it. This uncontrolled growth is cancer.
When cells begin to divide uncontrollably, your white blood cells come and destroy them before they form a tumor. However, sometimes your body fails to recognize these cells as a threat, or some of them get separated from the others and enter your bloodstream, which causes the cancer to spread. In cases like these medical help is needed to help kill the cancerous cells.
