When Piggy tries to get his glasses back from the other boys in "Lord of the Flies," he is pushed away and ignored. The boys do not see the importance of the glasses to Piggy and are more focused on their own desires and power struggles. Piggy's failed attempt to retrieve his glasses emphasizes the breakdown of civilization and moral values on the island.
Piggy believed he might be successful in getting his glasses back from Jack because he thought Jack still valued the power of reason and order that the glasses represented to maintain the fire. Additionally, Piggy perceived himself as important for his intellect, and he hoped Jack would recognize that importance and return his glasses.
Piggy's glasses can represent many things in this book, they represent power, civilization an wisdom. Without the glasses Jack felt powerless not being able to build a fire and all. So he took them to use them for his own good.
It is a sign of civilization and back home, non-savage like all the other boys are becoming.
Jack solves the problem of making fire by stealing Piggy's glasses, using them to start a fire and cooking meat. He disregards Piggy's suggestion of using the glasses for rescue signals, instead prioritizing his desire for power and control over the boys.
In chapter 10: the Shell and the Glasses Jack selected Roger and Maurice to accompany him on his raid to 'get fire' from Ralph's group, in fact they stole Piggy's glasses
They decide to let the fire go out at night and light it again in the morning
Simon demonstrates compassion throughout the novel by caring for the younger boys, helping others with tasks, and showing kindness towards those who are mistreated. He also tries to comfort and support those who are afraid or struggling, showing a genuine concern for the well-being of his fellow survivors.
Piggy's glasses get broken when Jack gets back from where ever and everyone is angry at him because he let the fire go out and a plane has just gone by or a ship i cant remember ... piggy stands up to him and says "you said you would keep the fire going" which he didn't. jack gets angry as piggy is standing up to him and "stuck his fist into piggy's stomach" he also "smacked piggy's head" which made his gl;asses fly off and tinkle on the rocks.hope this helpssorry if its a bit crap*Piggy's glasses get broken when he tripped on his own feet and fell on them, he is fat and crushed themPiggy's fat did not crush his glasses. Jack broke them when he got back from hunting. Everyone is mad at him because he let the fire go out and a ship just passed by. Piggy stands up to him and Jack smacks him in the head which sends Piggy's specs flying. That's how they broke.
Piggy is made fun of throughout the book because he is fat and has "Ass-mar" (asthma). They also use his glasses to start fires and Jack breaks them at one point. No one lets him talk at any of the meetings either. Eventually the kids split into two tribes and they end up stealing and breaking his glasses. Then, Ralph and some other kids go to get them back and the other tribe pushes a large boulder on top of piggy killing him and breaking the conch.
He takes his group to the platform because Piggy wants to get his glasses back from Jack and the other hunters. And Ralph wants to get his authority back.
In Lord of the Flies, Piggy wants to tell Jack that stealing fire was wrong and that they needed to work together to maintain order and be rescued. Piggy tries to reason with Jack about the importance of rules and structure in their society on the island.
Tell him to stop or kiss him back.
