A 'balanced' three-phase load, by definition, is one in which the load connected in each phase (either line-to-line or line-to-neutral) is identical in all respects. A single load, clearly, doesn't comply with this definition.

If it is an inductive load like a motor is would make the current lag the voltage and reduce the power factor on that phase. Using a capacitor bank to bring the power factor closer to unity would circumvent this problem

They simply choose one of the three legs of the three phase power to supply the single phase load. Nothing special happens. This is done all the time.

What is the role of electrical engineering drawing for material engineering field?

One of the customers of a material engineer is an electrical engineer. To understand the customer and what he wants, a good material engineer needs to learn the basics of how to communicate with the customer. Engineers communicate through drawings so that means a material engineer needs to learn how to read/create electrical drawings.

What is the difference between industrial design and engineering?

There is quite a difference between industrial design and design engineering. Industrial design is an applied art where the usability of products can be improved. Design engineering is a discipline that creates and transforms ideas to satisfy the requirements of a customer.

Why should you control maximum demand?

Commercial electrical customers are billed a demand charge as part of their electrical bill. The idea is that if the customer's peak instantaneous KW usage (demand) is high, the utility has to provide large enough generating and transmission capacity, which costs money. Controlling maximum demand lowers the electric bill, saving the customer money. The act of doing so is called peak shaving, and is usually accomplished by turning off non critical loads or providing onsite co-generation to reduce utility consumption to prevent a new peak from occuring.

Electrical what is kva?

On an electric bill, kVA stands for "kilovolt-ampere", which is a unit of apparent power. It measures the total electrical power, both real and reactive, that is consumed by a device or a facility. It represents the maximum power that the electrical system can support and is used by utilities to determine the capacity requirements for supplying electricity to a customer. The actual power consumption in kilowatts (kW) is often lower than the apparent power in kVA due to the presence of reactive elements, such as inductive loads, which cause the power factor to be less than 1.

What hp has for motor?

The HP of a motor is determined by the manufacturer of the motor. The after market user or engineer then determines what size of HP is needed to operate their type of designed equipment. When the customer buys the equipment needed for their type of manufacturing an electrician is hired to connect the equipment to the electrical system. The electrician then determine the overload protection, wire size and voltage drop on long conductor runs.

Why you take radius or size of neutral wire half wrt phase conductor?

On three phase services over 200 amps the electrical code allows the electrical contractor to reduce the size of the neutral wire . This saves the customer money. There are conditions as to how much the neutral can be reduced but it is not as low as half the supply conductors. The reason that the neutral can be reduced is that it only carries the unbalanced current on the three phase four wire system.
