Cold water has a greater density than hot water.
Density is related to the flight of hot air balloons because the more density the harder it is to get of the ground.
The liquid have density.
By rising when filled with lower density (hot) air than that surrounding it.
the density decreases
Becomes lighter and rises, the principle of hot air balloons.
Things Melt, people go outside lots of fun summer things
The molecules in hot air (or any gas) are more spaced out and therefore less dense. As you probably already know from the oil & water experiment we all did in primary school, things with less density float over things with greater density.
Hot fluid flows upward (because its density is lower), causing cooler fluid to flow downward.
Cold water has a greater density than hot water.
why do density currents hapen?
the density increases
Density is related to the flight of hot air balloons because the more density the harder it is to get of the ground.
The liquid have density.
The density goes down.
the density decreases
For the same reason that it happens in other fluids. The hot air (in this case) has a tendency to rise, and colder air, to sink, due to differences in density.
