You tend to end up with irregular galaxies
When galaxies "collide", the individual stars do not actually smash together; they're far enough apart that they mostly slip past each other.
yes they can and if that happens the galaxy will be destroyes :)
spiral,elliptical,irregular galaxies
Elliptical galaxies are large blob shaped galaxies that most galaxies will eventually look like. Elliptical galaxies are what happens when two or more large galaxies collide and coalesce.
Spiral galaxies and spiral means other body parts that stick out and move.
Other spiral galaxies.
Not generally, but galaxies do collide sometimes. In fact, the Andromeda Galaxy will probably collide with the Milky Way in about 3 billion years or so. In the collision, stars are often "flung" from one galaxy to the other, or thrown out of the original galaxy entirely. Follow the link below to see what happens when galaxies collide!

spiral,elliptical,irregular galaxies
We believe that the Milky Way is a barred spiral galaxy. Follow the link to see Hubble photos of other barred spiral galaxies.
There are three types of galaxies, all of which are the same, with the exception of their shapes. There are the Elliptical galaxies (football-shaped) the Spiral galaxies (like the Milky way; vortex-shaped) and Irregular galaxies (all shapes other than spiral and football shaped).
