Under normal circumstances, the protective layer of led tends to protect it against water damage. However, if led comes in contact with large amounts of water, such as the led used in some water pipes, it can lead to negative effects such as mold as some corrosion and bits of which can dissolve into drinking water, possibly causing lead poisoning.

you can get very ill and will have to stay in bed for at least 1 week. answer by Nicola zulch.

Nicola is right when she said you can get very ill. The metal lead (not pencil lead, which is graphite) is not good for you. It affects several organs in the human body, including the kidneys, brain, and reproductive organs. Eating a single small bit of lead metal, like a pellet of birdshot, is not likely to cause significant harm. However, it is not something you should do from choice. Effects on younger children are more severe, and have been linked to learning disabilities.

It depends on the acid. In general terms lead is very corrosion resistant and especially to hot dilute sulfuric acid. Nitric acid - especially when concentrated and also hydrofluoric acid will slowly dissolve lead.

You get wet lead. For many hundreds of years lead has been used to carry water. It is extremely durable and corrosion resistant to water. So nothing happens - you just get wet lead.
