Your car engine will stop.
If you shift the gear stick to the right, it is on manual. Then by pushing it forward and releasing you shift up; by pulling backward and releasing you shift down.
This is not an easy job. Get a manual on your car from DISCOUNTAUTOREPAIRMANUALS.COM and see what is intailed.
sounds like a fuel issue.
Clogged fuel filters result in poor throttle response and lack of power. Filters should be ideally changed before that happens. The 2002 Trailblazer owner manual says fuel filter should be changed at 100k miles. I expect the 2003 manual makes some comment. I have a 2002 and just changed filters.

An automatic fourwheeler can be changed over to a manual transmission with extensive modifications. This requires an overhaul of the drive train as well as new linkage and shifters.
I'd bet that the clutch is dragging, not releasing fully.
My Haynes manual says: 1. Clutch not releasing completely 2. Loose, damaged or out-of-adjustment shift linkage
changed over manual system to computer based
yes but it will cost you tons of money, you're better off trading it for a manual
