Methylated spirits is a mixture of at least two things: ethanol and methanol. If you get it in Germany they put something especially evil smelling in it to make sure you don't want to drink it. But let's confine ourselves to the product sold in the US (where it's called "denatured alcohol") and assume it's just ethanol and methanol.

Either alcohol combines with atmospheric oxygen to produce at least two new chemicals: carbon dioxide and water. If there's not enough oxygen in the area for it to burn properly, carbon monoxide will also be produced. You will also get a significant amount of heat - which is why you light this product in the first place.
