I saw a TV show that had people tray to guess which was the designer shampoo and which was the dog shampoo and every one thought the dog shampoo was better than the human shampoo. So I tried some, it only cost $1 and my coat was shinny and manageable. Recently I got Hearts shampoo for oily skin, thinking that oily skin meant oily hair. The shampoo leaves my hair soft and not dry, perhaps too soft, but it works well. I have even gotten complements on my hair from people thing I have gotten a hair cut.

The Ph balance of human shampoo is different from that of canine shampoo, therefore should not be used on dogs since it could irritate the animal's skin.

Guinea pigs can be bathed with baby shampoo, but they can't be bathed with other human shampoos because they could contain ingredients and substances that can irritate, damage, or dry out a guinea pig's skin.

I think the dry pet shampoo works better. Also with the dry shampoo you wont have to put your pet in the tub and make a huge mess, and you wont have a wet or sort of wet animal running around the house. So in my opinion the dry shampoo. I also use the dry shampoo on mt pets.
no, I've washed my dog with it several times, doesn't effect it. Although, it may depend on the dog, but I doubt it. If you run short of dog shampoo then it won't hurt the dog, but don't make a habit of it. Shampoos bought in stores isn't all that great for human hair and won't be on your dog. You could end up with the dog have skin problems. I go to a pet store and buy an Oatmeal based dog shampoo which doesn't strip the oils in the dog's skin.
I wouldn't reccommend using any human shampoo on a Guinea as you never know what they may be sensitive to and while they may seem mild to us they could cause irritation to your pet.
First bath the smelly dog with a good dog shampoo, do it twice. Always use a dog shampoo as human shampoo is too harsh on their coats. Make sure you are feeding your dog a good name brand of dog food, not some cheap generic food. Make sure you pet is vaccinated and dewormed. Take your pet to your Veterinarian for a good check up.
