A poorly performing septic system (assuming no damage or defective design) can be "repaired" by simply limiting the disposal of above mentioned products into the septic system, and periodic induction of new bacteria into the system.
There are many products on the market today that can rejuvenate the bacteria colony in a septic system. Visit your local home improvement center or market to obtain.
