From what I understand about ecstasy, it has the same chemical makeup as some horse tranquilizers. It's just that it effects humans in a whole other way. Apparently people tried horse tranquilizers and some chemists tweaked the recipe a bit and tailored it to benefit humans to make the most of it's mind altering effects.
