the heat of the suns outer layer burning hydrogen and helium heats these layers
This is not quite accurate. Our sun currently only fuses hydrogen and only does so in the core of the sun, the outer layers are too cool to sustain nuclear fusion. The corona is a very light density gas that is heated from small "microflares" coming from the sun's interior. These microflares occur hundreds and hundreds of times a day, and the heat energy coming from each flare is around 10 million degrees K! This energy dissipates into the low density corona and sustains a temperature of around 1 million k. These microflares are tied to small loops in the sun's magnetic field.

The photosphere, the chromosphere, and the corona
1. The Photosphere is the inner layer of the sun 2. The chromosphere is the middle layer of the sun's atmopsphere. 3. The Corona is the OUTER LAYER of the sun, which looks like a white halo around the sun.
The sun has three atmospheres -- corona, photoshpere, and chromosphere.
No, the chromosphere is not the same as the corona. The chromosphere is the thin and pink colored ring that is found around the edge of the sun. The corona is a sort of pearl or silvery halo that extends far from the sun.
Chromosphere and coronaThe three layers of the suns atmosphere are the photosphere, chromosphere, and the corona.
The Sun.
corona
The bright red halo around the visible surface of the sun is the corona, the sun's upper atmosphere. by Ashley age 9 IT CAN ALSO BE CALLED THE CHROMOSPHERE:) SABRINA AGE 14
The layers of the sun's atmosphere are the photosphere, (Greek for Light) the chromosphere, (Greek for color), and the Corona (Greek for Crown). The photosphere is the inner layer of the sun's atmosphere. It creates light. The chromosphere is the middle layer. It has a reddish glow. The corona is the outer layer. It is only visible during an eclipse. The Sun has three layer the Photosphere, chromosphere, and the corona Photosphere is the inner layer of the sun atmosphere The chromosphere is the middle layer of the sun and the Corona is the outer layer of the sun

# photosphere: the innermost layer of the sun's atmosphere that gives off visible light. # chromosphere: the middle layer of the sun's atmosphere. # corona: The outermost layer of the sun's atmosphere that extends into space.
